One of the best things when it comes to Apple iOS devices lies in the App Store. Reports claim that the Apple App Store now has more than 2 million apps and the number is set to grow in the coming months. Sources say that the App Store will hit 4 million apps by 2020, surpassing Google Play Store on the market.
According to the latest reports, 164 publishers earned their first million dollars in net revenue in 2018, which marked a 13 percent increase when compared to the same period last year. Google Play Store, on the other hand, saw only 71 publishers hit one million dollars. Tech experts say that third-party developers now focus on the Apple App Store to get more profit. In reality, users tend to spend money on iPhone apps, rather than Android apps. This year, Epic Games released Fortnite to all iPhone and iPad models, while the game launched on select Android devices.
For some background, Fortnite is now the most played battle royale game on the market. Fortnite hit more than 125 million players worldwide, making it an untouchable rival out there. Sources say that a lot of new exclusive games and apps will hit the Apple App Store in 2019 as Apple has been in talks with developers so they bring more apps to the App Store.
However, Apple is having a hard time selling its iPhones out there. The newly-released iPhone XS and XS Max are seeing slow sales on the market. Sources say that Apple will resume production of older iPhone models to boost sales. In reality, there is still a huge demand for older iPhones like iPhone X or iPhone 8. Apple officially discontinued the X, but it may hit its shelves in 2019.
The iPhone XR demand is now low despite having a good start. The iPhone XR is a cheaper iPhone that targets emerging markets. However, the XR is struggling to compete with the iPhone 8 Plus as it lacks some important features. Apple is expecting to announce new iPhones in September 2019 with new things and new design to boost its iPhone sales.
