Step one: First off, launch WhatsApp on your iPhone and then make sure the Chats tab is selected
Step two: Next up, locate the contact you wish to block (you can search the contacts by using the search bar at the top)
Step three: Tap on that contact to head to the messaging thread. Once you are in, tap on the contact name at the top, then scroll down a little bit and hit Block Contacts at the bottom. Hit Block again to confirm
Alternatively, you can tap on Settings within the WhatsApp app > Account > Privacy > Blocked > Add New and select the name of the contact you wish to block in WhatsApp.
How to unblock contacts in WhatsApp for iPhone
Step one: Launch WhatsApp from your home screen and then select Chats tab
Step two: Locate the contact you want to unblock and tap on the name of that contact
Step three: Once you are in, tap on the name at the top and then hit Unblock Contact at the bottom.
You can also unblock contacts in WhatsApp by heading to Settings > Account > Privacy > Blocked > Edit > Red button and hit Unblock.
