How to enable and use Dark Mode on your iPhone X

iPhone owners have long been waiting for an official dark mode. Apple is fully aware of that and the company secretly added a dark mode called Smart Invert in iOS 11. In short, Smart Invert is not a true dark mode we have been dying for, but it may fulfil our needs until Apple introduces an official feature.

iOS has a feature called Invert Colors that is specifically designed for those users with vision impairments or who have trouble reading text on the iPhone display. With Smart Invert, Apple simply added a dark functionality to Invert Colors, expanding its usefulness beyond just being able to invert all colors on the display.

Smart Invert is not enabled automatically on your iPhone, meaning that you need activate it. You can follow our steps below.

Step one: First off, you need to launch the Settings app on your iPhone and then select General

Step two: Once you are in, tap on Accessibility and then hit Display Accommodations. After that, just simply need to tap on Invert Colors and then turn on the switch for Smart Invert.

Once you do that, what you get is a dark user interface, with the rest of the content remaining the same.

iOS also includes Classic Invert, which reserves the colors of your iPhone’s display , making it more easier to see at night. You can easily enable Classic Invert in Settings, but if you need help, you can check out our steps below.
