Facebook Group chats are pretty useful for keeping in touch with your friends or family members, but at times they can become a cause of annoyance, as you are suddenly added to one group that you don’t really want to be a part of or you simply don’t know what it is.
Luckily, Facebook for iPhone and iPad allows you to leave a message conversation instead of standing there and seeing the messaging thread run uselessly within the app. If you find a Facebook group message conversation annoying, we will show you how to remove it from your contact list.
In this guide, we will run you through the steps to leave a Facebook group message conversation on your iPhone and iPad
Steps to leave a Facebook group message conversation on your iPhone and iPad
Step one: First and foremost, you need to launch the Facebook Messenger app from your home screen and head to a group conversation you want to get rid of and tap on it to enter the messaging thread
Step two: Once you are in, you will see the names of the people added to the group or the group name at the top of the messaging thread. All you need to do now is to tap on it and move to the next step
Step three: Next up, you are supposed to scroll down a little bit and tap Leave Group to proceed
Step four: Once you are done, a pop up will appear on the screen and all you have to do is to tap Leave to exit out of the conversation group.
Once you are out, you will no longer receive messages or notifications coming from that message conversation unless someone adds you back in. Besides, you can just mute notifications for that conversation if you don’t want to leave. In this way, you’ll be able to read the new messages without being annoyed by notifications.
