As Apple is constantly making headlines with new and improved technology, we do our best to stay up to date. With new operating systems being put in place and new phones constantly being released, we can’t help but wonder, is there really any difference. Well with these few tips about the Apple Watch, we can prove that Apple is still the chief in the technology world. So what can the Apple Watch do? Is it that much more convenient?

First, Apple Watch users can send and receive messages by speaking to them or selecting from pre-set options. The watch contains a built-in speaker and microphone for calls. Unfortunately, calls still have to go through an associated iPhone and not directly from the watch to a network. You are able to silence incoming calls or notifications by covering your watch with your hand. You can also communicate through “digital touch” which will let you draw on the watch screen and send the image to friends.

With the Apple Watch you can access Siri by simply saying, “Hey Siri” or holding down the crown on the side of the watch. With Siri you are able to verbalise messages to friends, get directions and perform searches.

You can use Apple Pay with your Apple Watch. It’s projected to replace debit and credit cards. You will be able to buy items by double clicking the button under the winder and waving your wrist in front of special in-store readers. Your watch will also allow you to use it as a hotel room key for Starwood Hotels as well as potentially replacing your car keys.

You can use the built-in sensors to track your fitness results. Keep track of your heart rate with infrared sensors. It will graph data such as calories burned, steps taken or how long you’ve been standing. With its work out app it will provide information for activities, such as running, cycling and other exercises.

It will have a great display of circular icons and for alerts and notifications the watch will vibrate around your wrist when they come in. You can control music on your phone from the watch and music can also be played directly from the watch.

The Apple Watch will soon have the ability to support full apps but they won’t be ready until later in the year.

It’s great for remote control functions. You can navigate your Apple TV from your watch as well as turn on/off your smart lights in your home.

As technology advances, we can count on Apple to be the frontrunner. Technology is constantly changing, as is the Apple Watch. Check back for more Apple Watch updates.
